My current HDD is about to fail, so I'm looking for a new one. Main needs are: max performance, reliability and at least 200GB cap(cost is also a factor).
I'd love SSD, but my laptop(Acer 5740G) supports SATA2, so I don't know if it's worth it. Please help and sorry for any spelling errors(typing from an old mobile).

SATAII is plenty enough to feel the effects/benefits of an SSD drive if your budget allows it.

Like namaiki said, you will realize the benefits of a SSD despite SATA II. You said cost was a factor but you didn't say what your budget was. How much do you want to spend?
