I starting backing up some (three) dvds in two days, using dvdfab, dvdsrink, imgburner etc. I noticed that the last copy I did was a bad one, with stuttering frames and buzz in the audio (sounding like a bad tv reception). I thought it was a bad copy that I did. So I burned another copy. Same result. Then I realized that even when I play the original dvd I have this problem! Did I over work the burner?! Please help me pinpoint the issue. Many thanks.

P.S.: The first two copies were fine and the dvd drive worked fine before too. Also, when I stream movies online I have no frames or audio issue.

I'm not sure, but maybe you could try updating the driver.

Make sure the drive is running in UDMA mode and not PIO mode. Use device manager for this.

I checked and it's not in PIO. I think I was burning for too long. Any solution for the cleaning the drive?

    Perhaps the disc was bad.

Sounds like a drive hardware issue to me.

I may have missed this, but have you tried the discs in another system yet?
