This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Help needed / sound problem

    When I powered up my gateway p-6831 fx laptop today I noticed a loud static sound coming from my headphones. I have tried multiple pairs / and different songs etc, still having an issue with the static. When I unplug the headphones, the laptop speakers sound just fine though. Please, any help would be appreciated.

    Also, if I am in the wrong section I apologize. If so where should i post this problem? Thanks
