    Hi people
I have another problem to solve, it's a USB microscope from Ali express.
The thing is my wife brought me one from Ali express for a present
But I'm having terrible time getting this configured
I'm using vista home premium light activated but my USB microscope still can't find the drivers, it's saying the driver required is missing a INF file
    Ant ideas people

Windows Vista OS might be too old for the drivers that came with it? Did you install them?

    Is this it?

    Plugable USB 2.0 USB Microscope

    Or this one?

    Software download for Windows

Usually the scope is a USB web cam. The one I have, on a 25' cable, just loads the driver from the INF file. Once loaded you need a program to view the picture.

Probably then just a generic usb web cam then. Vista may just no be recent enough to carry the default driver. where it was purchsed does it advertise Vista compatible?

The camera, what is the link to the hardware? If the hardware states "Vista ready" then either the drivers are generic and included or are provided by the OEM.

Again, we need to know what camera this is. How can we know what driver will work for you without knowing what hardware it is and its capability?

From what I can see the Andonstar is just a generic web cam from USB 2.0. This should be included within Vista as a driver. The problem from there can be internal conflicts from your laptops web cam etc..

If it is just a USB webcam, you don't need a driver, it will show up as a webcam and webcam software will see it and display the image. The software they sent you a link for is such software.

Is there a switch on the Microscope to turn it on / off? Check the Windows Device manager for a webcam entry / usb device - plug in / unplug to see if a device pops in / out.

After the USB set up was done when you plugged it in the first time, it might not have a popup message any longer - try a different port to get the message again.

You have not answered here though, is there a web camera on your laptop? Also if there is a button that means some software usually has to recognize the button/function.

Yes there is a cam on my laptop but it's not used no drivers are installed because I have trouble finding the right one, so in the device manager it's showing a yellow highlight around the webcam for not being installed.
    Cheers basic

That could be your issue as since the first is not installed and it too should use the USB channels. It has to get all the resources assigned etc..
