A month or so ago my brother got an Acer Aspire 5101 from PC World, when he bought it he thought it was supposed to have a tv-out port on it. But when I was looking at it yesterday I noticed there was no s-video port or anything else that looks like it could be used for a tv-out.

I've had a look for a docking station for it that might have a s-video port but the cheapest I have found is about £125! Is there anywhere I could find one for cheaper or is there another way to get it hooked up to his tv?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

does the laptop have a stereo head phone jack?
if so, you can get a spliter cable that will provide you with left and right channel sound in RCA format for usually less than $10USD. Basically you want a male stereo to female RCA setup.
some times it takes more than one conversion piece but it should cost less 50USD total once finished.
the last time I did this it, which was roughly a few months ago, it cost about $25 for the whole conversion setup.

of you need Svideo there are similar conversions.
just go to RadioShack or a similar store and get the different cables and converter pieces.
