I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 and the only thing I hate about it is the fact that it doesn't have a HDMI port. So I looked on eBay and bought this think just hooking it up would work, but apparently it doesn't recognize the TV at all, it just says No External Display is attached. My display resolution is a WUXGA, 1920x1200 so I know I am more than FHD capable.

How do I go about solving this problem? I mean, is there a way to solve this problem?

Most cables are bi-directional but not in this case, return it if you still can. You can always ask the forum before you purchase the cable if in doubt.
