Hi, I currently own an ASUS G60VX and i've had it for awhile but would like to upgrade the cpu, CPUZ shows the current processor to be an Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 @ 2.13ghz with an Intel PM45 chipset, what are the best cpu's I can upgrade to, and how much more performance will they give in games; Crysis 2 or starcraft 2 for example. Any help is greatly appreci.ted

The fastest CPU I would recommend is the T9900 3.06GHz.

    But, it costs $200. I would buy a T9600 2.8GHz for $90.

Technically 2.8 vs. 3.06. In real life much less.

I was in a similar situation as you are. I dont know the cooling capabilities of your laptop, but I just upgraded to the x9100 3.06GHZ Extreme Core 2. I couldnt be happier and my laptop runs cooler than before. Make sure if you get on, you get a E0 revision. Shirleyfu on EBAY has the QC ES version of the E0 stepping and that is what I bought. It is 206.

    Refer to my newer thread....

But, your laptop is a 17"er while the OP's is a 15"er, I wouldn't suggest an Extreme CPU.

I just have had good luck so far and it produced less heat than the P8400. Sorry, Im new to laptop modding though and your statement makes perfect sense. And I stand corrected.

I have a X9100 ES QHBQ stepping E0 in a HP EliteBook 8530w running day by day at about 4 GHz. It is a 15,4" notebook. There is no problem with the cooling.

Awesome news. Score 1 for the x9100. I could sell my old P8400... but it isnt much faster than your current one.
