    All:

Have an XPS 1210 and purchased a Hauppauge HVR-950 so I could get OTA HD broadcasts as well as watch Dish Network programming from my bedroom. I have no experience with tv tuners previous to this.

Here's my problem. The Hauppage scans and finds channels OTA with the antenna no problem. But when I jack the Dish Network cable into the tuner, all I get is a screen that says "press enter to continue". In my living room, the Dish Network remote has an enter button to press...but I'm not sure what I need to do to be able to get my available channels on my notebook. Do I need to get another Dish Network box for my bedroom? That would somewhat defeat the purpose (minimalism) of using the notebook in the first place. Any advice?

Are you getting anything from the Dish? If yes ignore my post if no read below.

I wanted one of those and when I researched I noticed they only say can receive analog cable, if you go to their site you will see they never refer to digital cable. Yes they mention cable and satellite but never mention digital. I think you maybe out of luck if digital satellite works like digital cable encoding wise. I am certain about digital cable only guessing on satellite, good luck.
