I recently installed a new LED screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 but the screen is not functioning properly. From what I have read, I need a DUAL LVDS cable in order for it to function properly. Could anybody point me in the right direction where I can find one for my model laptop. Are the connections to the motherboard universal? I will include a photo of what it looks like with the original cable produces. As you can see, it is visible but FAR from right. As a side note, in the screen resolution options it offers the 1920x1080 and all correct drivers are installed. Any insight would help me greatly. Thanks for your time

If your notebook wasn't supplied with displays requiring dual-lvds cable, you will have to use cable from another model with same connector type, rearranging pins if necessary, or add additional wires to your cable. Anyway, the first thing to look at is your notebook's service manual listing displays used in production and, if you're lucky, exact part number for cable in question.

Did your laptop come with a 720p (900p) LCD? If so you will most likely need the full HD version of the LCD cable for that laptop. I'm not sure about Asus but Dell makes it a habit of having both a FHD and HD cable.

    Sorry double post

Is there a difference between the n53 vs k53? If not, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

The photo on the left is the dual LVDS and the one to the right is my original. These are close ups of the MOBO connector and to me, they seem pretty darn close. Opinions?

With Dell's connectors, the pin count is the same as well, the problem is in the wiring in the cable, FHD has more connection points than the 720P HD cable. By the specs you've listed, it does seem like the upgraded version with the FHD (1080P) LCD is no different than the one you have, just massively upgraded. I would venture a guess that the eBay cable will indeed work with your lower end model.
