Hey guys. Last night I got my laptop. It's a Toshiba A105 and I love it so far.

I only have one problem it has a shared video card and it can share up to 256MB (ATI X200M). It only came with 512MB so now I want to upgrade.

The Crucial site says that my system has 2 slots with (2 banks of 1) and it said that means I have to upgrade 2 at a time.... Like I'm suppose to know what that means.

Can you guys help me pick out the ram I need? I was wanting to get 1 stick of 1GB Ram preferably Corsair or Crucial and keep one of the slots I already have 2x256=512 so in all I'd have 1 gig plus 256 and the 256 card would be for my graphics card so I'd have 1 gig for the system.

My question is that possible since it's (2 out of 1). Thanks.

Wait I just did the crucial scan on my system and it shows that I have 1 stick of 512 MB. So really all I need is just one stick of 1GB RAM that's compatiable with my system. I just called our local computer store and he'd charge 140... and I was just wanting to see if I could get it any cheaper.

the problem is I don't really know which one to get.

I don't understand all this DDR and DDR2, PC5300 and PC5400, Class Latency 1,2,3,4,5. I don't know what all that means. I want to make sure it's going to work for my notebook before I buy it.

you said you did the crucial scan. they give you specs as well.

I suggest doing the scan and getting the specific RAM from www.newegg.com
