I have recently purchased a ocz agility 3 SSD to put into my Dell 1525. I know i am putting a Ferrari engine in a VW. Any way the issue I am having is when I go to install windows it says it can't see the hard drive and to make sure that it has power etc.

I placed the SSD into a portable case and the PC recognized it. I updated the BIOS and tried to reinstall windows. Can someone please help me and tell me what it is I can do to fix it or do I need to return the SSD and go with another model?

Check your BIOS SATA operation, is it set to AHCI or IDE? Are you using XP as it will need F6 SATA drivers to install in AHCI mode.
