I have an External hard drive, its a 500gb, USB 2.0. I am having troubles with it being seen properly with my laptop. I always pop up unknown device, so I keep turning it off and on, un-pluging, re-pluging until it works, but that takes for ever, anyone have ideas of how I can make my comp see it off the bat. Im on a C90s with Win XP x86.

    Thanks, Tyler

How about re-installing your USB drivers?

are you using directly connected to the laptop or through a usb hub? if its a hub, maybe it lacks of enough power to keep it running ok.

Tried re-installing the driver, and the external has its own adapter, so power wont be the issue.
