    I am looking at buying a Dell external E-Sata DVD-RW Caddy KM001 HW563,

The person selling it is not very helpful. I'm trying to determine wether it's IDE or SATA connector.

Does anyone know about these or where I can find more information. I have run a search on google and scanned Dell website but I just can't seem to find the info I need

MAY I ask why E SATA dvd caddy.
dvd wont perform more than USB.
I would suggest get an ext.dvd writer if you looking for one.
If you are looking for putting HDD in your optical bay, then remove the drive and see what connector it has.

It's more likely they just don't know. However, unless it's very old, it's probable eSATA. But if you're not sure, don't buy it.

Rather than deal with all that, I simply use my internal player and got an external blu-ray burner which is also more robust to boot.

I want to use a second HDD in my ODD bay, I ant to put my current Blu ray drive into a caddy to watch films. I think Im going to use USB 3 instead. Now I need to figure which expresscard to buy.

    I think my acer aspire 6920g is a 54?

Ive nver used expresscards before to be honest.

Some USB 3.0 express cards can be finicky. The first one I bought from Monoprice froze my computer. The second one is a 54, and so far is working OK.

I doubt you will find an external blu-ray caddy or player with USB 3.0 out.
