I have an Inspiron 1000, with a 2.2 ghz processor and 256 mb ram and 30 gig of internal harddrive space and 60 gigz of external harddrive space, and some other stuff I forgot or will probibally end up saying wrong or spelling wrong or making some dumb mistake that will make me look like a n00b. Anyway, I want to upgrade the ram, but everywhere I look it the upgrades for my laptop are up to 256 mb ram, which isnt much different. Also I want to update the gfx card. Is there such thing as an external gfx card? or does anyone know if I have room inside my laptop to replace one? I know that the inspiron 1000 can come with 512 mb ram so it should be possible. Please help. O and my msn is [email protected] in case anyone wants to talk to me that way.
Thank You.

512MB seems to be the max memory possible/suggested by the manufacturer. Installing more might work but one cannot be 100% sure, unless somebody with the same laptop has tried to install more RAM.
Upgrading the gfx card is not possible given that the laptop has integrated gfx and there wont be any expansion ports. -
You can try, but buy it somewhere you can take it back easily.
Help with my Inspiron 1000 please
