    Hi all,

I am the very happy owner of an Acer Aspire 2002WLci - one of the reasons I got it was that there was a bluetooth option. I have since discovered that Acer does not support the bluetooth option on my Aspire, but they have the bluetooth option on subsequent models using the same case. I have found the bluetooth harness in the battery compartment, and there is already a bluetooth switch on the laptop - I just need the module - but Acer won't sell it to me. The newer models 2012,2020 have the same modules that I need - how can I obtain one of these?

Please help. I feel a little lied to, since it says it was an option on their web site and my manuals - and its only since March so its not like its a really old notebook. I have the service guide and can obtain the parts number - is there some service depot that can order the parts for me?

    Aspiring fan :)

    Desktop amd xp3200 ATI9700
    IBM Thinkpad T23

Thanks, but I wanted to avoid another external device when I have everything built in except the module. I may have to resort to an external USB Bluetooth dongle (they are pretty cheap these days!) I couldn't find any internal cards in eBay.

The part number for the Acer bluetooth module is:
    54.A14V5.004 (Bluetooth card WNC 81.BU513001 BT+ANT)

Is there somewhere I can order one of these (obviously I am not a Acer repair depot)?

I am also looking to find a stockist that has this part and will source one globally if I have to. I have been told that it is manufactured by a compay called Compal in Taiwan. DId you find one and if so have contact details

    cheers

I have a similar laptop: ASPIRE 1414. With a frontpanel bluetooth switch/led that says no device whenever I press it. And the bluetooth module is listed on parts list in the FRU manual. However I have opened all the accesible back panels of the laptop (Memory, Processor, miniPCI, hard-disk) but it seems that there is no place where tou can fit the bluetooth module. Note that the blutooth module from acer is not a miniPCI card as you can see from the picture in the FRU manual. So I am very puzzled.
<par>Did any of you guy managed to identify where the bluetooth module slot is located?
To me it seem that there isn't one and even though we have the front button the laptop may not be upgradable to bluetooth even if we were to be able to purchase the part from Acer.
<par>The only alternative if this is the case is to get a miniPCI card that has both bluetooth and WLAN b/g incorporated. Unfortunately no such card is currently available. the best the is currently is a WLAN b + bluetooth.

I also have an acer aspire 2023 and have wondered for ages where to fit the bluetooth module. Finaly I found it thanks to this article in the battery compartment. There is a little clear perspex pannel srewed into where it should go at the moment and an arial connector hanging loose under it. Im not sure about on the other acer models but have a look for similar signs. I also would like to get onboard blutooth and would be grateful for anyone that could point me in the right direction.

if any of you are still looking for that module this site http://www.mk-electronic.de/ appears to sell _every_ acer part you could ever want. it might be a little costly to ship from germany... i dont know.
