I have a problem with the eject button of my BC 5500A Blu-ray drive. I think the drive eject button is poorly designed as compare with my old UJ-220 drive. Take a look at the 2 drives. The top is BC 5500A and the bottom is UJ-220.

BC 5500A has extra frame surrounding the eject button, UJ-220 doesn't. The extra frame creates an obstacle with the plastic ejector that protrudes from my Sony bezel. So, when I press the eject button from the bezel, it feels mushy and you have to press hard to make it work.

How would you fix this problem? Anybody encounter problem like this before?

I don't remember the drive models that I have noticed were hard to eject, but I have seen it before
I would software eject instead of using the button

Is it possible in your case to shim under the eject button

Maybe he doesn't want to have to go to "Computer" every time he wants to eject?
