For all those who are curious, I just bought a Gateway MX8711 with the new T2060 CPU. CPU-Z doesn't ID it properly yet. I reformatted and installed Vista Premium fresh and I got 35.553s in my first run of the 1M Super Pi test. I'd say it's a more than respectable CPU for a budget laptop![]()

Well, a T2060 owner on the forums - thanks for posting the benchmarks. If you could run 3DMark06 and give us the CPU score, that is another excellent benchmark to try.

Will do. WHat's really interesting is CPU-Z IDs it as a T2250 @ 1.73 GHz with 2MB of cache and the Core Speed definitely runs all the way up to 1733 when running programs. What do you make of that? Do you think the T2060 specs floating around are wrong? I'm thinking I got a wicked deal here unless CPU-Z is just plain wrong all around.

Unless Windows, CPU-Z, and 3DMark are all wrong, I think there's really a T2250 in there:

Either the T2060 doesn't really exist or Gateway gave me a surprise upgrade. -
I wouldnt jump to conclusions yet. Since the T2060 was just recently released programs might need to be updated to recognise it. What does your BIOS recognise the cpu as?

Try running Intel's processor ID tool. You can download it from their website.

Will a mod please delete this thread? Looks like I got an upgrade and don't have the right CPU. -

I'm sorry, I dont know why I found this hilarious. -
