    Hewlett Packard Presario V6000 (GS688UAR) PC Notebook

    i need to know what kind of ram and how much i can install on this laptop thanks for any info anyone can provide.

    its not that i dont know anything about computers its just that thats the only product info i can find on the computer and hp or compaq does not list a v6000 laptop and i do not know what 6000 series it is.

    Go to newegg.com and use the Crucial memory selector link they have there.........it will tell you what Crucial memory will work and you can use that to find out what type it is and buy any brand you choose.

    The Presario V6000 uses SODIMM DDR2 RAM. You can choose either 533 MHz (PC4200) or 667 MHz (PC5300/5400). They should both work fine.

    any 200pin ddr2 ram should be fine. If the speeds are too high, it will just downclock to the speed supported by your mobo (with the added bonus of lower latencies)
