Is it possible to upgrade the processor in a laptop or what? I apparently have a 45nm dual core @ 2.4 ghz and someone told me I need a stronger processor for higher than medium settings on crysis... :(

    Yes, it is possible.
    P8400 ?
Upgrading the CPU might not help much.

(Crysis looks good even at medium)

If money is not an issue, you can install a T9600. (Notebook ?)

But it'll boost only the fps by about 10-15, it won't improve the graphics quality.

GPU is way more important that cpu. Yours is already fast, and my guess is its your graphics card is slowing you down.

Hey Robin, do you know what video card (GPU) you have? Because as the others have said, it's way more the deciding factor when it comes to framerate in games such as Crysis. Upgrading your processor will do virtually nothing, the only thing that will increase is your PCMark score, which is a synthetic benchmark and not the best predictor of real-world results.

Edit: Looking through your previous posts I see you have a dv5t, with the 9600m GT. A good mid-range card, to be sure, but don't expect a processor jump to let you play it on high.

If you want to squeeze all you can out of Crysis, you might want to check out the tweaking guide, which will let you set custom video settings.
