What kind of connectivity do I need to have to connect a monitor with a res of 2560 x 1600, at its native res? Anything besides a dual link DVI?

HDMI would be your choice number 2 besides DVI

    No. You're wrong. As always.

Both are digital, so they're equal.

Yes, it's higher, the highest i've been able to go with VGA is 2048x1536, and AFAIK i haven't seen anyone else gone higher with VGA, that's why i answered hdmi to the topic, just to make sure i don't say VGA when i personally have never tested higher resolutions :)

Do you know the limitation of VGA?

After doing a little bit of research (as in 2 minutes on your favourite search engine), HDMI 1.3 can support 2560x1600, however a lot of monitors are not HDMI 1.3 compatible, therefore will not accept 2560x1600 over HDMI, leaving dual link DVI as the only option.

Not many notebooks can connect to a 30". Best bet is to find one that has dual link DVI. HDMI compatibility is iffiy at best and DisplayPort hasnt really caught on yet.
