I have a Logitech Anywhere Mouse with SetPoint driver 6.61.15. On the support site it claims these drivers address a high CPU usage during sleep but I have found another issue.
I had noticed whenever I came up to my laptop when the screen was blanked out the CPU fan was churning. For a while I thought it was idle background processes. I started to get suspicious so I set the blank out to start after 1 minute and the CPU fan almost immediately started to spin. Went back and started system resource monitor and let the screen go blank. After 60 seconds I moved the mouse o wake it up and found the Logitech driver consuming 50% cpu of core0 for the time period while blank.
I then promptly uninstalled the SetPoint software and, with a reboot for good measure, tried the test again. Well no more CPU churning for no reason at all.
I should note this is with the screen set to blank and the CPU set to never sleep.

I have never been happy with any mouse software except the untouchable ThinkPad TrackPoint.
If Windows doesn't recognize it (immediately); the mouse (or keyboard for that matter) is garbage around here.alexhawker likes this. -

It was nice for control of the extra buttons but not nice enough to warrant the high core usage. All is fine now so be it as it may.
