I'm looking for a high perfomance hard drive to put into my aspire 9300.
It has to be a 7200 rpm unit, however i have heard that there is a notebook drive with 16 meg cache on it; however i cant find one. Anyone have any information on such a drive?

The performance is 25% better than the 100gb Hitachi 7200rpm 7k100 drive, which is otherwise the fastest notebook harddrive. Why not go for a solid state drive, instead?

In UK, Span offer a good range of notebook hard drives (for some reason not including Samsung), although they are not the cheapest.

Solid state is way too expensive for my budget, also i'd like to have at least 160gb of storage space.

i'll take a look at the link you left there john and see what they have.

I like how the eBay listing says this is the fastest hard drive you could EVER get for your laptop. I guess hard drives are going to suck in the future
