So I constantly read about people getting a maximum of 62 degrees, even with a slight OC. However, playing AC3 I get a constant 74 when under load and high 60s/low 70s in FC3.

Is this high for the card? Seems it to me,especially as I'm running at stock speeds.

Your temps are nothing to worry about, did you check whether those people repasted or had their notebooks repasted.

I know it's not particularly high, just seems high for a 680m. I don't think they repasted but they didn't say. I've just seen reviews of the 680m that also peg the card as having a maximum of 70 degrees when under heavy load.

Aside from the differences between TIM application, dust buildup and ambient temperatures also matter a lot.

This laptop is a week old so I'm guessing dust is unlikely...

OK, that's reassuring then. Seems that the more demanding games create more heat (obviously). I should be happy with my 75 degrees on AC3 and Witcher 2 then, especially as I can max both out and constantly get above 30FPS.
