Is this hard drive the biggest out there right now that will FIT into my notebook (std 9.5 mm height)?

I heard the 7200 RPM ones by seagate are coming out later this year, but I'm too impatient to wait any longer, I've been waiting since early this year to get a new hard drive, and I almost got a 320 GB until I saw this.
Is this the largest capacity right now that WILL FIT INTO MY NOTEBOOK?
Should I buy or should I wait even longer?
Thanks for your help everyone!

500GB would be the largest to date. If you wait there will always be larger ones right around the corner. It depends on what you need right now. If you are close to filling up your current space then you definitely need to move soon.

The one you linked to will work and is the highest capacity HDD that will fit in your notebook. The Western Digital that Andy linked to is the only other 500 GB hard drive that will work. It's really a matter of personal preference and price as to which one you should get - neither one is particularly superior or inferior to the other.
If you're already too impatient to wait to buy one, get it now! The 7200's will be a bit faster, but it's unknown when they'll be released (or available), and there aren't any announcements of any larger hard drives coming out yet. -
Well since the WD one is two platters and the Samsung one is three platters, the WD theoretically has to be faster, since there is density is greater, right? I mean there is more space per area resulting in less area that the head would have to travel meaning faster times? Would it be significant?
I remember K-TRON teaching me all about this! -
Yeah that is why the Western Digital 640GB desktop drive is so fast compared to other similar sized drives since it is just the two platters.
-
yes, the more dense one would be faster (with everyting else equal)

Sounds good. I think I'll go with the WD, despite it being slightly being more expensive.

+ Lower Power Consumption than the HM500LI....
Fewer heads/platters.... -

The WD5000BEVT uses significantly less power and runs cooler than the Samsung 500GB.
