    I heard a while ago that these drives actually run at 7200rpm and that people have taken them out the enclosure and put them in their laptops. Is this still the case because there on sale and ill get one if it is 7200rpm.

    is it a 2.5 inch? if so i dont see why it wouldnt be possible...

    Thanks for the reply, Yeh its a 2.5" ik its possible to put it in the laptop but question is, is it 7200rpm or not? I seem to remember there was a code that distinguished the 5400rpm and 7200rpm models!

    I did it, and I definitely suggest it. You have to make sure to buy the right version... I dont remember the specs, but the box looks different for the ones with a 7200rpm one inside. If you get the wrong box it will only be 5400rpm.

    I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that the serial begins with DTG on the 7200rpm model.
