I know there has been this topic about getting a 7200 rpm SATA drive in the Hitachi 200GB portable drive from bestbuy.com which was actually listed as 5400 rpm...

Now they have got a 250GB drive from Hitachi, which is listed as 5400 rpm (obvious, isn't it?) I was just wondering if anybody has seen this or bought this or know if this is going to be a 7200 rpm one or not? this one is currently going for $149.99 (with free shipping)

Also, I want to know if it is surely going to have a SATA drive and not an IDE?

And, which one out of WD Scorpio (inside WD passport) & Hitachi Travelstar (inside Hitachi portable), assuming that both are at 5400 rpm, would be a better one for an upgrade for laptop?

The WD Scorpio gets great reviews every time it's tested. Its probably as close to a 7200rpm HD without actually having a 7200RPM HD.

No, the 250gb Hitachi is not 7200 RPM (people have tried and checked, IIRC), so you'd be better off with the WD Passport, plus its $140 at various online stores and $160 at best buy.
