Anyone have this drive? Any comments, benchmarks, etc? I'm mostly interested in noise and vibration. TIA.

I had it in my MacBook Pro. It's a little slower than the Western Digital Scorpio Blue. Noise was similar between the two. Not exactly noisy, but all laptop hard drives irritate me since I've been spoiled by SSD. Can't comment on Windows performance.

How was vibration? In what way was it slower than the Scorpio Blue, just felt slower accessing files?

    Thanks.

similar in all regards. Scorpio Blue seemed a tad faster. I used hdapm to aggressively shutdown. The parking heads noise irritated me somewhat.

I bought one, but not using it on my laptop, but on a download station, speed seems faster than the 5k500b, im getting 80 to 90 mg/s on my giga lan. One the downside, it does vibrate a little more than the 5k500b, not a lot, but noticable, i tried on the same usb2 enclosure that i use 2x 5k500b and the drive didnt start with 1 usb plugged, but worked fine with the extra usb. Sound wise, i would say a not as quiet as my 5k500b but not that loud as Black Scorpio. Overall im pleased with the drive, i expected to be more similar to the 5k500b, but its not bad.

I ended up going with the Toshiba MK7559GSXP 750gb 5400rpm. I read other reports of vibration with the 5K750 and a couple users reported hearing strange sounds as well. Vibration is a major criteria for me since I'll be using it without rubber rails in the X220, hopefully the Toshiba will be ok. Thanks for the feedback.
