Nice drive...I ordered a 7K500 off eBay a week ago.

Can you run some HDTune, CrystalDiskMark (1000MB) and AS SSD benchmarks.

I had a 7k500 before moving to the SSD world. Wondering how much yours is better than a 7k500.

I'm also going to be moving to a SSD but I need the 7K500 for storage.

I currently have Intel X25-M and a Hitachi 7K500. So excited to move up to the 7K750.

Will run the tests later this week.

@tiller - So, you'd like me to create a 100GB partition (on the edge of the platters) and run AS-SSD File Copy benchmarks? Sure thing, so long as all I have to do is post screenshots.

Will do. Should arrive by Wednesday. I can either put it in my eSATAp enclosure or in my HDD caddy for optical bay. Both have the exact same performance, as I've tested from them many times and received matching results.

It's ultimate home will be in the caddy.

Just arrived. Did HDTune and AS SSD copy so far. Client is coming over for massage and then working on his computer. Will finish the bench's later and post them.

It's looking promising. AS SSD file copy test is much better that tiller's post on the 7K500.

OMW, I might have to order one and sell the brand new 7K500 when it arrives.

PS. Can you please let us know the noise and heat compared to the 7K500.

    Thanks,

So it's finally out....I wonder how the 7K750 performs vs the Scorpio Black 750.

Dead quiet in the enclosure and can't hear it in the ODD over any ambient room noise. Hitachi's are super quiet.

Running AS SSD right now. sooooo slow. Then CDM. Then, posting results tomorrow.

Thanks. I've been waiting all day for your reply.

So would you say it's more quiet then the 7K500?

    Check back tomorrow...

Well, my 7K500 is silent for all practical purposes. I can't imagine the 7K750 being any more quiet than that. :p
