    I'm thinking of buying a Travelstar 7k500.

I've noticed they offer the following encryption options: Bulk Data Encryption and TCG Opal Encryption. The latter is the most recent one.

However, stores aren't selling the TCG Opal version yet. I need the hard drive right now, so my question is: is Bulk Data worse than TCG Opal Encryption?

Does it really matter? If u need the performance , just get it... if u want better encryption, get another drive... I don't know the difference between the 2 types of encryption but it shouldn't really matter...
