Free Agent Pro 500GB 7200 rpm using SATA interface 5:33 (!?)

4 year old Acom firewire interface with 160 5400 rpm IDE drive 5:01 (beat SATA!)

4 year old Simple Tech USB 160 5400 rpm 8:24

New Seagate Free Agent 500GB 7,200 rpm USB 9:54 (!)

Notes:
Two drives I tested appear faster on XP.
SATA external fastest on reading from to internal SATA.
Would like to see what Firewire 800 interface would have clocked.

These clocks reflect my particular laptop, your times are most likely to be all over the map due to chipsets, drivers and OS used. At least I know what I’m dealing with and I find it interesting how well my old firewire 400 did on current OS.
