Hey folks, got a new Sager np9261 and I noticed right away that I'm getting horizontal lines that appear to scroll up the screen. It's noticeable in all applications, but usually only if you look for it. Still, it is quite annoying. I thought perhaps it was the refresh rate but I cannot change it, it is set permanently at 60 hertz. It's a 17" screen with a native resolution of 1680x1050. Any thoughts? I'm finding quite a few things wrong with this sucker and I'm about to pull my hair out.

that really sounds like a cable loose or a lcd inverter issue.

i thought horizontal lines were power issues... Check the battery capacity. See if it happens while on ac

Building on what Lite sad, try testing it on just battery and just AC. If it goes away when you're just running on battery, it could be a ground loop, though that normally causes an audible hum, rather than horizontal lines.

Right this very moment I don't see them, and I have not done anything that would change it. I have not tested it on battery power yet but I will do that the second I see them come back. XoticPC support said it may be a driver issue...looking at my drivers, I did discover that the Sager driver installed is for the 8700M GT for Vista 64, so I'm going to change it to the driver for the 7950 GTX and see if that does anything...

Updated the Nvidia driver to 169.02 with the modded NIF, but the problem persists. It'll do it for a little while then stop. Think maybe it has something to do with the CPU? Like maybe it occurs when a particular one of them is in operation? It's a Quad Core. I'm going to update to 169.09 when the modded NIF is complete.

Updated to 169.09, still have the horizontal lines periodically. It occurs on both AC and battery. I'm out of ideas, and so far all I can get from Tech Support is that it is a driver issue...
