I overclock my video card a bit, and changed my HD from 5200 to 7200, and now my laptop gets a bit hot when running few hours of gaming. Whats the best cooling device out there for laptops. I want to keep the price under $100 =). Saw alot of people saying that the NZXT is one of the best or the quadcooler...??? which one should i buy??? thanks =)

look here
10 char -
looking in there but they dont put which one is the best for the 1530 witha 9cell battery
-
personally, i use the NZXT and am more than happy with it. though i do have a different laptop. but generally, the consensus is that the zalman nc1000/nc2000 are one of the best.
-
i read that it has to do with where the laptops fans are... if i have a 1530 which one would be better the nc2000 or the NZXT?
-
Overclocking 8600GT in a 1530 sounds like notebook suicide at this point. Even with cooler do not be shocked if system failure is in your future. Sorry but it could be.
-
where are the fans...or better yet, can you post a picture of the underside of the laptop?
-
-
so i guess the biggest question would be NC2000 vs Cryo XL
-
I have to agree with powerpack here, especially with the Nvidia news with the faulty GPUs. Not worth those extra 1-2 fps.
-
Real feel good? Run the fans always? Software problems to solve hardware problems not impressed. I am just starting to pay attention to this. I hope it does not become as wide spread as I fear.
-
The issue is a weak die/packaging material set, which may fail with GPU temperature fluctuations.
Even with the software, it doesn't fix the problem, it only delays the inevitable.
I think this was one of the major reasons why the DDR3 versions never really flew, I think it increased the failure rate for those GPUs that ran at a higher clockrate/heat level. -
Yes D3X I agree with what you say? Are we in disagreement?
-
Nope. Never was, just was commenting on the extremity of this Nvidia defect.
-
D3X let's have a feel good and I do get 1 more post?
-
will dell cover this under warranty?
-
If your graphics card burns out, Dell will cover you, as long as you do not take apart the system. Just call in and a Dell service guy will come over and repair your system (swapping graphics cards).

If DeLL is aware of a software overclock it could affect your warranty. I do not know this as fact but keep that in mind.
