Hi ,
Anyone know how to repair a port in which I only hear on the right ear , unless I wiggle the plug , oviously some loose connection but how exactly do you fix it ?
Thanks in advance ,
Gilo
Already took the notebook apart and tried to flex the springy metal connectors inside but this fix lasted for less then a week .

call the manufacturer...you probably just need a replacement part

Are you sure it is the laptop and not your headphones? Try a different pair.
If it does turn out to be the laptop's jack, then there is really nothing you can do about that to my knowledge. I'd agree with night_2004's advice. -
Yep I'm 100% sure its the jack .
I dismantled the notebook to the system board level , the jack seems an integral part of the mobo . I thoguht someone with experience could tell me how to bend the inside "clips" that make the connections . -
My brother has the same kinda problem in his lappy (acer aspire 5000 i think).

If you really want to pair the headphone port, it would give you so much headache. You must have a disassemble manual to see how it works. If your part is broken, you need to order it from Asus, and need some tools for assemble it. So much trouble for doing this.

What hydra said. The majority of the time, stress on the jack cracks the soldier joints to the circuit board. A major PITA to fix, especialy on a laptop. While dismanteling the laptop is a feat in itself, youll need a low powered or non-electric solider gun wih a tiny tip, and remelt the soldier so it sticks back to the board contacts. You of course need to be ultra carfull, if you arnt experienced and you soldier 2 or more connections together accidently (especialy if they are not related to the headphone port), bad things happen.

I've fixed a similar problem before. I had to resolder the port's connectors. How difficult it is depends on your laptop.
