Hi Guys, :hi2:
I am using my Medion 10" Netbook as a virtual WiFi router to get WiFi internet in my place, as far is networking workaround I am good with it.
As stated I use my Netbook as WiFi router, it remains on for long times especially in holidays. Like right now it is up for about last 60 hours or so...It also serves me as network storage by using external USB HDD.
of course I am using it with AC adopter, have removed the battery. I have power settings to never turn off the hard disk ( sleep otherwise )
all it does is run a software to distribute internet, time to time I use the USD HDD through network as well.
is placed well in open air in all direction, image attached to clarify. room tempreture is like 14-16 degree Celsius, I been checking the netbook time to time for heat, it hardly feel any hot than my hand back side.
one thing that bothers me and I want opinions about is, should I still be concerned about it?
or how long max should it remain ON in such environment without any trouble?

So long as you keep it went ventilated as you have now, I don't see any issues other than a power outage or something like that which would affect all the stuff in your house. Though I would personally keep the battery in the netbook instead; think of it as a built-in UPS that will allow you to properly shut it down if you have to (power outage, system updates, that sort of thing).

Thanks a lot man, I just wanted some opinions but I was starting to think that I am never gonna get a reply at all.
Good Idea about the battery but I am actually following another idea in the scenario.
If Battery is always there, and AC adapters is always connected, i.e. Battery is being overcharged.... it kind of destroys the battery life.
So far, the battery from the subject netbook is very good, gives about 6+ hours of normal usage while I take my netbook with me on the way. that's why I didn't wanted to mess with the battery. normally by the way, power failure ( unless of course some unexpected accident ) is not a familiar thing.
But if you can help me with this crazy sort of idea, wouldn't it be any harmful for the hard-disk if it is spinning consecutively for like a week or so. even though in very cool environment and very minimal activity? just your thoughts please. -
There shouldn't be any issue with the hard drive spinning for a week or more continuously. Just so long as you don't apply sudden shocks to the netbook, you should be fine.

aa ha, Thanks again. :hi2:
normally I myself am kind of IT pro but it was a weird sort of matter so I wasn't satisfied all by myself. but now I feel much better already. So Thanks

I agree with KT, with ambient temp that low you should be fine! Apparently few of us look in this topic on a regular basis. I would not worry about battery overcharge unless your model does not have the ability to stop charging when full (I believe nearly all modern notebooks do). Just curious what power plan are you using and if you are running Windows. Also do you have it setup to "turn off hard disk after" --- never or another setting.

hey Josea thanks for joining in, ya I am using the custom power plan never to turn off the Hard disk or such, display turns off after 5 minutes but computer doesn't.
as it is in the corner of the room, I even don't bother to physically reach it in case I want to turn it off every now n then before sleeping in work days...I use windows remote desktop to shut it down. sometimes from my other laptop and sometimes even from my android handy.
as for the battery, I kind of miss-explained ya. I didn't actually wanted to say the overcharging but actually I mean the battery overall life span. as far as I understand each battery has a specific life cycle after which it starts to reduce its backup time and eventually keep going down with it, right!
so, I kinda save the life span of battery while I don't even need to use the battery as the netbook is staying always in-door and as I said, there is almost no chance of power failure or such. -
Keeping the battery at full charge consistently (for months at a time) and running it in a warm/hot environment will reduce its capacity quicker, although by how much varies with each battery. Since you took the battery out to prevent battery wear, make sure the battery is drained to approximately 40% capacity and stored in a cool, dry place for maximum storage life.

And get that plastic cover off your external HDD for better cooling.

More damage is done to electronics in the start/stop phase than anything else.
