    Ok i just ordered a HP

    Specs:

    -C2D T8300 2.4 Ghz
    -4 GB ddr2 667mhz ram
    -250gb 5400rpm
    -8400m GS 128mb GDDR3
    -Vista Home Premium 32bit
    -1280x800 14.1 inch

    My question is how will this go in day to day word internet,general pc playing css occassionally (what kinda fps)

    And is this considered a pretty fast laptop in today's standards?

    Lastly will it be able to use Engineering Program CAD reasonabbly?

    it will perform nicely in everyday apps, and it should considered fast by the average user.
    I'm not that sure about the CAD thing though, the proc is okay given it's a laptop proc, but the graphics card might need a little more oomph when you are handling complex models.

    Ok sounds good SO will this compare to a 2ghz core 2 duo proccessor on a desktop computer or not that fast?

    Desktop processors are always faster than their mobile counterparts, so it will be about the same for rendering times and such.
