I would check under the disk utility under Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management

Go to Storage, than disk management.

download and install hdtune. When it installs, you will see a benchmarking page. It will have a large black chart. Above that chart, in the top left, their will be a pull down menu, and it will tell you if the harddrives are in raid 0, 1 or 5 or spanning.

    What laptop do you have?
For example, mine has a hardware raid via controller, so it says "VIA SCSI/SATA RAID 0 (~400GB)" in the pull down menu.
If you have the d900c, or a dell/gateway, you will have software raid, so it will say something like "intel raid volume" or something like that.

Also, you should have a raid manager after the bios loads. In there you can see what raid type is installed, and what the block size is and so forth.
