I have a Toshiba Satellite A45S1202 laptop, and a few days ago, horizontal lines appeared on my screen. The guy at Staples said I need a new screen. But now the lines are gone and the screen is fine.

Does anyone know a simple fix for this problem without replacing the screen? Now that this has happened once, is my screen about to go completely out, or do I have some time before it does?

Any troubleshooting help you have would be appreciated! Thanks!

Could be a loose LCD cable. The horizontal lines usually remain permanent if its the LCD screen or GPU

This would be on the odd side. But where the lines moving? Like going from top to bottom or vice-versa? Does your Power Supply have 2 or 3 prong plug?

I would also vote for a loose connector on the display cable. All the opening and closing of the display can sometimes cause the connector to work loose. I first had this problem about 20 years ago and discovered that pushing on the notebook's casing in a certain place would fix the problem for a few days.
