Hi,
I have recently bought an r40 thinkpad which does not have any optical drives. I have already an r40e and have a nec 6750a dvd writer. when i try to remove it from r40e and put in r40 I realized that r40 uses an ultrabay slot and therefore i could not insert my existing drive in it. I have looked internet whether a kind of eide to ultrabay adapter is available or not which would help me to insert my standard slim dvd writer to r40. However, i could not find out anything like that. Should I have to buy a new ultrabay dvd writer ( in which case options are truly limited and very expensive) or do you know something that allows me to use standard slim optical drives with an ultrabay slot? Thanks in advance...
PS: r40 has an ultrabay plus slot.
How can i use a regular slim dvd writer with ultrabay
