How can i view my PC on my TV?

So today i got a VGA to RCA cable to get my audio and video on my TV. So i plugged it in my computer and in my TV and went to the right TV mode where the cables were connected.

Here is how my cable looks like:

TV screen is blank. I spend hours on the settings of DISPLAY SETTINGS and NVIDIA settings and i have had no luck to get my desktop on my TV.

I have this NVIDIA Card: Nvidia GeForce4 440

In the display settings theres 2 screens, i click on the second but nothing happened. I tried everything, every setting there is, but still no luck.

Can someone tell me how this works?

That's not RCA, that's component video. If you're trying to do what I'm thinking, then the cables you need will be red, white, and yellow.

You need a converter, not just an adapter cable.

Unless your laptop supports TV out (and it doesnt trust me or it would have come with the cable) or your TV supports VGA in and uses RCA type connections (It doesnt trust me it would just use VGA inputs)

So you need a VGA Converter.

They make them that have composite, component, and s-video outputs.

    I recommend this one: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10114&cs_id=1011407&p_id=4724&seq=1&format=2

It works well and is very cheap compared to other ones.

That makes no sense. With the Composite video (red+white+yellow) cable setup, the yellow cable is the only one that carries video signal. The red and white cables each carry one channel of stereo audio. The composite vide (red+green+blue) cables split the video into three cables. All three of those carry part of the video signal, meaning you would need a total of FIVE cables (red+blue+green+red+white) to get video and audio.

You can't just magically convert component to composite video by mixing and matching cable colors, despite what your manual says.

Cable is not going to work like I said above, those cables are basically a scam as they work for nobody.

I have not seen a card with native TV out via VGA port in over 5 years and I have only seen it on a desktop card.

Since the cable is only like $2.30 and they wont refund you unless you take the time to send it back and pay shipping, they just collect all the money from all the people that buy one before researching that it wont work.

So I'll say it one more time, you need the converter I posted above for your video, for your audio you need a 1/8" headphone male into 2x RCA connection.

Just like ViciousXUSMC mentioned you need that device I believe. And for audio you need a 3.5mm to RCA adapter. Connect the 3.5mm end to your laptop headphone out and the white/red end to your tv.

I think you meant component video (red+green+blue). Yellow is composite video. I figure it was just a typo, but thought it better to clarify things for the OP. :D
