    How do I check what make of LCD in inside my HP 8710w?

    Hi, I would like to check what make of LCD I have inside my HP 8710w. How do I go about doing that?

    Go into Device Manager, Monitors and select the properties of the PnP Monitor. Look at the Hardware Ids on the details tab. It is normally MONITOR\cccnnnn where c is a letter and n is number. Then you have to search for what the 3 letters mean. I know SEC is Samsung.

    I think he is referring to this program. Another program which tells you a lot about your hardware is SiSoftware Sandra. The free edition even includes the benchmarks.

    3dmark06 (possibly 3dmark05)
    Sandra
    Everest
    Cpu-Z
    and maybe speedfan or clockgen ect.
