    Hey guys I have purchased
    laptop which has m.2 ssd and it supposed to be connected via pcie x4 but instead it is via ancient ahci..
    don't know why they didn't put it via pcie
    SSD is M.2 Toshiba HG6 SATA M.2 128GB THNSNJ128G8NU

    Hmm.. Its probably the laptop and the SSD.. Never heard of this Toshiba SSD, as far as I'm aware only Samsung and Intel make PCIE ones and GS series has always supported M2 SATA SSDs only... Get a Clevo P670/671 if you want M2 Pcie support...

    This is new latest skylake laptop with dd4 rams
    on official site says NVMe M.2 SSD by PCIe Gen3 X4 up to 2200MB/s speed

    I guess I need to buy Samsung M.2 SSD with NVMe support ..
    Think this Toshiba SSD does not support it..
    That is why I was asking IF there is any soft ; which detects and show if particular M.2 SSD supports NVMe ..I think there is no any yet.. :)

    It is a SATA III M.2, so it most likely, rather, certainly won't support NVME.
