I have a pair of Bluetooth 'Beamers' headphones, and when i first started using thme with my lapo they worked fine.

I would turn on the 'Beamers' and they would search for bluetooth device (light blimks) and would automatically connect to my ASUS K52F laptop

but over the last few months this has stopped automatically connecting, so im not sure what has caused this

i got a replacement set of these headphones as i thought it was a technical fault with them, but the new beamers dont automatically connect to my laptop when turned on, despite searching for devices

i have tried removing the device in windows, turning them on, they re-pair together, but as soon as i turn them off and on again the same failure to automatically connect occurs

so i guess this is a hardware/software setup fault,

So how do i set my laptop runnoing win7 HP, to automatically search for bluetooth connections?

as currently, whenever i want to use my bluetooth headphones, which is several times daily, i right click on the bluetooth icon in the botton side bar, near the clock, then select 'Show bluetooth devices' then select the Beamers device in the new popup folder, then select Connect to this device under Advance Operations

Now compared to before where i'd simply turn the beamers on and leave near the laptop, within 5-10 seconds they would pair with the laptop, and unpair when i switch the beamers off,
so what do i need to do/change in order for the beamer to automatically connect with my laptop when i turn the beamers on?

    thank you

When you have them paired to your computer go into sound properties and set them as the default device. That way when you turn them off your sound will default back to you speakers, and when you turn them back on they will default back to your Bluetooth headset.

Thanks for the reply but i have already set the bluetooth headset as the default device but when i turn it off and back on the headset ust searches for devices to pair with (red light blinks) but it doesn't automatically connect, it only does when i manually go throught the bluetooth options

its weird because it used to automatically connect to the laptop a few seconds after turning them on

Have you tried setting the bluetooth services to start automatically?

that would fix my problem but i can't find the option to do this?

one thing ive noticed is that before when u first got them when first pairing it would as for the PIN for the beamers' which was preset at 0000, but it doesn't ask for a PIN when pairing now

is there a manual way to pair with the PIN?

Maybe try setting you laptop audio back as the default device. Then restart you computer and then set your Bluetooth headset to the default device.

It's a software bug. If Windows tries to connect to the bluetooth headset when it detects it, the A2DP protocol won't start correctly and that causes the headset to not connect correctly. It's the proverbial cart before the horse. I've had this happen on mine and several other systems with a variety of bluetooth headsets. The on;y thing that prevents it is after you disconnect your bluetooth headset (or before you reconnect it) go into playback device in the audio control panel and set the default device to another playback device, such as if it were set on the speakers, then set the HDMI out as a default device or such. The idea is change the default device so Windows does not try to connect to the bluetooth headphones before the headphone's A2DP protocol is started.

Do modern laptops with bluetooth supports A2DP stereo wireless headsets/earphones?

Oh yeah. Nowadays, nearly all bluetooth peripherals support the A2DP protocol. The bug I mentioned is specific only to Windows (I believe).
