In task manager for example, is it every odd numbered core is physical, or is it the first four?

Technically speaking, all of the cores are logical. I believe that the cores are numbered by a single physical cpu at a time, i.e. cores 0/1 are physical core 0, 2/3 -> 1, 4/5 -> 2, 6/7 -> 3.
As such, if you wanted your program not to make use of Hyper-Threading, you could use, say, 0, 2, 4 and 6, or 1, 3, 5 and 7, or any of 16 possible combinations. -

Setting the affinity in Task Manager is having zero effect on CPU core usage for me.
I wish I could turn off HTT. -
Can't you do it in BIOS?

I don't think I can. Did not see as option when I looked in the past. Asus G73, anyone know?
Desktop guys were saying HTT decreases gaming performance. Many were disabling.
How does windows number physical/logical i7 cores?
