I'm trying to sell 1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz (2 x 512mb) and a 120gb hard drive (5400rpm) from a Dell notebook and am wondering if it's easy to sell these things cuz my dad said who's going to buy it?
btw, is it possible to tell dell to install only one memory stick (1 x 1gb) instead of (2 x 512mb)?

There are plenty of people who want to buy second hand components on eBay, or even, you can post some pics and Info on the Buy/Sell/Trade section of this forum.
And yes, you can install only one stick of 1GB. You may get $50 USD for each the HDD and RAM perhaps, but I don't exactly know. -
Ebay them.
You beat me to it, Lil. Even though it's supposed to be ladies first. -

Ebay them, as others have said.
I just sold an old 60 GB hard drive and a 512 MB laptop memory on ebay. People are ALWAYS looking for old computer parts, and your parts aren't even old! -
ok that's good to know. Dell charges a lot for RAM. $125 for another gig of ram omfg...
btw has anyone ever used the 3% cash back discount at Fatwallet.com? is it a scam (that's what my dad thinks)? -
Yes I've used coupons from fw.com. Your dad seems to be pretty clueless and paranoid when it comes to computers.

Are you sure 2 x 512mb of ram is easy to sell? I see a lot of people selling them than buying them. how much $ can I sell these for?
what about 160gb (5400rpm) hdd? -
You should be able to sell the ram for a good 35-40 bux.
The hard drive is more tho, because it's not a slow rpm and pretty good size. -
About the 3%, I believe US retailers are taxed 3-4% when customers purchase merchandise using a credit card, therefore some have offered a cash discount (gas stations and xoticpc come to mind)

ebay is your friend when it comes to this
-
I just checked ebay and the buy/sell/trade section in this forums, and the 512mb x 2 is not selling pretty well... are you sure they can be sold easily?
What should I cover the laptop hardware with? I can't sell it without putting it in something. something that will protect it. -
hey buddy i am interested for the 2 512 sticks
my gfs notebook runs on 256 ram for XP... you got my attention
Personally i think selling old computer parts are easier then selling new ones because the older ones stopped production and they only have them in fewer quantities ... simple rule of marketing
smaller quantity = higher demand = bigger profit =p
Larger quantity = less demand = no profit.. -
ok pm me..

I agree, the RAM wont fetch a good price now, maybe just keep them ?
HDD should fare much better. -
2*512MB should sell for 20-30
that HDD should sell for around 60 -
-
really my gfs notebook is the Nc4000 i think the ram will match my gfs spec i am not sure though myself can anyone help me verifiy ?
-
your GF's computer can only use DDR
so no they are not compatible. -
yea i realized that this morning when i woke up *i wrote that post at 1 am >.<* but yea thanks for clearing it up
-
oh... well thanks anyways. It may take awhile to sell them. Still waiting for the Hot Ram Deals to update.
How easy will I sell these things?
