We just bout new Lenovo IBM ThinkPad T61p C2D T9300. The key of it was 256MB nVIDIA Quadro FX 570M which is grate for rendering and architectural applications. But it uppeared to be very slow in simple Google Sketchup. What ken I possibly upgrade to make it work faster? It has 2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory and Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit OS. Lenovo web site says (Note: Due to the limitation of the current 32-bit PC architecture, actual usable memory size is limited to 3 GB even though the physical installable memory size is 4 GB.) To get an extra 1 GB of RAM I do not think it will make big difference.
    Thanks...

1GB of memory will help with Vista.
    What HDD do you have?

How about upgrading the HDD to a faster one? That ought to speed it up, assuming yours is a 5400RPM drive.

    install XP.

and you dont need 4GB RAM, 2 is fine for XP. I have 3GB because the XP doesnt recognize the 4th one .. but who cares

As long as you run a 64bit version, Vista or XP would recognize and utilize 4GB.
