I was just wondering how long could I leave my laptop on for?

I do alot of downloading and uploading so I never really ever turn it off.

Is this bad for the computer? It never overheats and I always check the temperatures with HWMonitor.

CPU is almost always at 40 Celsius
    GPU- 48 Celsius

If you don't have any heat issues, leave it on as long as you like.

There may be two parts of your laptop that are at a disadvantage when you turn lappy on for a long time. These are the screen and the batteries of course. The practice affects screen life and recharging capacity of batteries, causing shorter unplugged sessions. But these factors are no longer a great issue if your laptop has an eco mode feature.

for the screen, you can use something like MonitorES which will automatically turn the screen off (even notebook screens) when you lock the computer
