did you just halve your ram frequency?

533mhz = 1066 DDR
Look at the latencies. -
I'm scared crapless to do this. I wanted to up mine from 667MHz to 800MHZ, maybe increasing the latencies a little if necessary, but the thing is.. I still need this computer for school.

Anyway, what kind of performence increase do you get with the lower timmings?
I remember that I was able to lower myne quite a bit but the real life difference was unnoticible.
In fact i sometimes run my 800mhz ram @880mhz with 667mhz timmings.
But I guess i just have some really nice ram.
Edit: let me post a pic for you in a sec. -

Going from 7-7-7-18 to 5-5-4-12 (with much tightened performance level timing and tRFC) will help my minimum frames.

Not bad for DDR2, my old modules would do 480mhz-500mhz at 6-6-6-15.

I managed to get the ram to 444.9mhz (889.8mhz).

I tried a bit higher but ORTHOS gave me an error. either the CPU became unstable or it was just because I ran out of battery power. Anyway the notebook turned off two seconds later.
Next I'll try to set the multi of the CPU down so that I can be sure it's not the CPUs stability that is the problem.
hopefully I can get this ram above 900mhz. -

Damn, I thought this was a limbo thread for notebooks.

How low can you go?
