I wonder how many people still use 4:3 monitors these days. Do they even still make one?

Still have 3x 21" Sony Trinitron CRT monitors (feels like 30-40lbs when I lift them up lol) and 2x 19" BenQ T903 LCDs. Don't think they make any more 4:3 monitors though. Oh and my 9-10 yr old Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop is 4:3. It's my kitchen laptop for looking up recipes and other basic things.

I'm using a 4:3 Samsung SyncMaster 204B as my primary desktop monitor. It's got a pretty good pixel count for the size (20" UXGA) so I don't really see the need to replace it unless it breaks.

My secondary monitor is a 5:4 Sony, and my "backup" is a 4:3 ViewSonic CRT :D

Heck, up until two months ago, I was using a 4:3 laptop as well...

Typing this on a 5:4 (1280x1024) LCD from 2003/2004. If it ever dies, it's nice to know I can still replace it with something roughly square.

Also use a 5:4 1280x1024 as my primary screen on my work desktop. Hyundai L90D+ from 04/05. Love it.

On my main desktop I got a Dell 2001FP. I use it in portrait mode. You just can beat 1600 vertical resolution for internet usage. I wish I could find one of the 2048x1536 monitors, but they're all like $3k, which is too much for me.

I still have a 4:3 monitor for my old IBM, and a 5:4 Acer monitor attached to my Acer back up desktop.

However, my absolute favorite monitor is still my trusty old Dell E248WFP. It may have been Dell's cheaper option vs the Ultrasharp, but a good old 24" 1920 x 1200 monitor with a matte finish is hard to beat. Colours and contrast is surprisingly good for a TN panel, as well, better than both of the screens in my notebooks.

There are for sure. I have two sitting in my basement back in Canada. Once I go back, they're coming back to life. You can't beat the color accuracy and back levels. My 24" LCD is nice, but I miss my CRT's.

ALL monitors at work are 4:3 and unless someone breaks they are not scheduled for replacement in the near future.

I have a T61 4:3, and dread when it dies. Even big monitors are being designed for movie watching instead of working. I'm seeing more 1080p widescreens rather than the 1920x1200 :-(.

Yep, most workplaces I see have tons of 4:3 displays still going strong, I have 1 4:3 left at home and a bunch of 16:10 that I'm holding out with as long as I can to try and resist the encroaching doom of 16:9

We still have a 4:3 CRT monitor (17"). It hasn't been used for several months though. Waiting as a back-up device.

I still have a 17" Philips LCD with 1280x1024 and an old 17" Philips CRT at my other place, they are both 4:3, there is also a second, even older 17" Philips CRT in my basement, but that one is dead and is awaiting some new for old special where I can dispose it.
