    How many pics can I store on my 16GB SDHC Card

    If I am planning to shoot all pics with 9mb each, May I know how many pics I can store on my 16GB Card ??

    Just to expand a little, 16GB usually equals 16,000,000,000 bytes in terms of data storage. There are 1024 bytes in a kilobyte and and 1024 kilobytes in a megabyte and 1024 megabytes in a gigabyte.

    Working back the other way, if every picture is exactly 9 megabytes each, that equals 9437184 bytes,

    16000000000 / 9437184 is 1695 pictures.

    However the card also has to make space for the file system and probably for thumbnails as well, so around 1500 photos like Tinderbox (UK) previously wrote would be accurate.
