In stand-by it will be 20 times less power, what about during normal operation ?

Probably around 20% less power from the on die VRMs and the lower nm chipset.

There are also rumors that the Southbridge will entirely reside on die. So that should further reduce power. These are all speculations so there is no way to say how much more efficient it really will be. Where did you read about the stand-by power consumption numbers?

Intel announced it a while ago. But imo if you're going to leave your notebook in standby that long you might as well just shut it off.

20x is connected stand by power. Tis could be usefull on devices that are moved around alot, as in and out of aconnectivity zones while asleep. the 30% or so over SB overall will be welcomed with more open arms as this is the real battery killer from the CPU aspect.
Under casual use the CPU though has little to do with battery life. They are so efficient already that usually the back light is more of a battery eater.....................
